Why RAW?

Our four legged best friends are hunters and carnivores by nature. Since most of us are not able to let our dogs find their food the way nature intended.  It is our job to provide it for them.  “Kibble” is about as far from nature as you can get with all the added preservatives, animal by-products, chemicals, wheats, grains, and fillers.  Have you ever noticed that the amount of food you give them is usually the amount you are picking up in the yard?  When you feed your dog RAW the amount of “waste” they produce is significantly reduced because they are absorbing the nutrients.  Another added benefit is the "waste" is virtually odorless, and turns to a white powder if left in the sun for a day, making clean up much easier.

We are a licensed Pet Food Manufacturer by the State of California.  We are inspected and required to have a superior manufacturing practices. We are local which means fresher, wholesome ingredients not to mention no shipping costs are added to your food. We are a small family business and this is what we feed to our beloved dogs.  Now we want others to enjoy the benefits that our food has to offer. 

 How We Got Started…

My Family and I are Dog Enthusiasts, Show Competitors and Breeders.  We were always researching and trying different foods and supplements in order to produce the highest quality puppies and Best in Show Winners.  What we learned: Diet is critical.  Healthy dogs produce healthy puppies.  With commercial "kibble" dog food we had problems with red eyes, dry skin, loose stools, low energy levels, inconsistent weight fluxuations, dirty teeth, ear infections to name a few.  Our cost of food, vet, medications and grooming were ridiculous.  We met a woman at a Dog Show, and she mentioned she was feeding her dogs raw.  She beat us that day in the ring.  As soon as we got home we started doing online research on this RAW FEEDING Phenomenon.  There was so much information.  We were totally overwhelmed and had no idea where to start.  To buy RAW Diets at the Pet Store was way too expensive for how many dogs we had.  If we were going to do the RAW feeding we had to make it ourselves.  We started with chicken necks, chicken backs, adding different vegetables, cooking some leaving others raw, baking, grinding, chopping, slicing, defrosting, measuring, cleaning.  It was complicated and so time consuming.  It took us two years of countless recipes, dozens of nutritional tests and wasted uneaten food to develop a balanced, nutritious diet that the dogs love.  We named it OC RAW DOG.  Our dogs are healthier, our vet visits have been dramatically reduced to almost nothing.  Our GOAL is providing people with a quality, consistent, cost efficient, balanced, nutritious food, that puts the fun back in feeding for their beloved companions.  Coincidently, we met up with the same woman at a dog show a few years ago.  This time we won.
